Foods loved by locals: Heading the list of ramen ranking of Hokkaido region – Saimi in Toyohiraku, Sapporo City


Any towns and regions in Japan have one or two exquisite foods, which have been loved and evolved by locals.

A specialty dish that has been developed to adapt to particular environment has distinctive flavor not found elsewhere. It is like a treasure for local people.

・Order ramen with rice
Saimi serves not only exquisite ramen but also rice. It uses delicious rice harvested in Akaigawa Village of Yoichi District, Hokkaido, one of affiliates of the NPO “Most Beautiful Villages in Japan.” Each grain of rice becomes plump and sleek when cooked.


It is good to make original miso ramen bowl by placing a slice of roast pork on top of rice.


In addition, pour miso ramen soup over the bowl and finish the dishes.


If you have a chance to visit Sapporo City, try making a little side trip to Toyohira-ku, the outskirts of the city, to have the greatest miso ramen.
